Reinforcing Ironworkers Local 416 provides trained professional Reinforcing Ironworkers to commercial, industrial, and residential building contractors throughout Las Vegas, and Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Barbara, San Bernardino, Riverside, and Ventura Counties.
Local 416 was once a part of Local 51, however in 1927, Ironworkers International restructured the union to establish clear geographic jurisdictions and optimize ironworkers’ market share. Local 416 was established to focus solely on reinforcing steel and Local 433 would concentrate on structural construction. Las Vegas was included in Local 416’s jurisdiction, due to its proximity to Los Angeles and the Local wanted to continue working with the same contractors that were conducting the work since 1927.
Local 416 primarily concentrates on the construction of high rise offices, hotels, low and high rise residential buildings, hospitals, schools, military installations, water treatment plants, solar power plants, fossil fuel power plants, wind power plants, warehouses, mixed use buildings, shopping centers, amusement parks and rides, airports, city halls, civic centers, universities, jails, prisons, piers and heavy industrial plants.
